Cannes Experience – Luxury in Every Moment
Where the Riviera’s Light, Luxury, and Life Meet
It’s impossible to hear the name Cannes without imagining red carpets, flashing cameras, and glamorous celebrities. The film festival may be the city’s most iconic emblem, but Cannes is far more layered than its glittering façade. Today, it is a modern, multifaceted destination—one that indulges lovers of nature, serenity, culture, gastronomy, and Riviera-style luxury.
And thanks to the three stunning Cannes properties by VillaHotels, this famous city becomes not just a place to visit, but a place to live, breathe, and truly experience.
To be honest, Cannes didn’t enchant me at first. I saw the glitz, the yachts, the glamour—yet it didn’t touch me. It felt beautiful, but distant.

Then summer returned… and so did I.
Suddenly, the city shifted. The warmth, the light, the salty breeze, the rhythm of the local market, a hidden museum shaded by gardens, lunch at a small Greek taverna—Cannes revealed a new side of itself. A softer, more soulful one.
Some destinations don’t sweep you off your feet at first sight. They take their time. But once they capture you, they never let go.
Step by Step Through Cannes
A day in the life of a VillaHotels guest
We began at the Vieux Port, the Old Port—just a short walk from the train station. The scene was pure Mediterranean charm: yachts and sailboats bobbing gently, backed by rolling hills and glistening water.
From there, we climbed the narrow streets up to Suquet Hill, home to the historic Notre-Dame d’Espérance church and the ancient fortress, Château de la Castre. The panoramic view over Cannes is one you never forget—sun-drenched rooftops, the bay shimmering like glass, and the horizon stretching into forever.
Descending toward the town, the vibrant Marché Forville pulled us in with its colors, scents, and flavors. Flowers, cheeses, Provençal spices, local produce—the kind of market where life is lived loudly and joyfully.

🍽️ Lunch With a Touch of Riviera Luxury
A gentle spring sun followed us along the iconic Croisette, where we stopped for lunch at La Plage du Festival. The truffle risotto was divine—Italian elegance with a French soul.
And yes, of course, we posed for the quintessential red-carpet photo in front of the Palais des Festivals. Cannes invites a little glamor into your day—how could we resist?
This central area—between the station, the port, and the beach—is the beating heart of the city. Boutique-lined streets, chic cafés, stylish little shops. No rush, no pressure. Just Riviera ease.
🏝️ Saint-Honorat – The Island of Peace
In the afternoon, we boarded the ferry from the Old Port and glided across to Saint-Honorat. Only 15 minutes away, yet a world apart.
This serene island has been home to monks for centuries. They cultivate vineyards, produce wine, olive oil, and liqueurs, and preserve the gentle, sacred spirit of the land. Wandering among cypress trees, olive groves, vineyards, fortified towers, and turquoise shores felt almost spiritual.
Naturally, we didn’t return empty-handed. A bottle of wine, a small liqueur—and a piece of that peace came home with us.

🎨 Art, Shade, and Inspiration
On another warm morning, we began with culture—a visit to the Musée Bonnard.
The villa-like museum, surrounded by lush gardens, was hosting a special exhibition featuring Monet, Renoir, Picasso, Matisse, Van Dongen, and Degas. A dream.
Bonnard’s vibrant colors and gentle Mediterranean light reflect exactly what the Riviera feels like: intimate moments, lingering sunsets, and the soft glow that makes this region so enchanting.
It was the perfect escape from the midday heat—a hidden gem that many visitors miss.
